taxi drivers & life lessons

I've taken a few taxi rides in my time..
5am returns from work, nights after clubbing, on the way to school (late) for an exam, lazy times.. etc... whatever.

Point is, i've come to realise taxi drivers fit into the following categories
  • Silent.. usually new to Australia, limited english, or are just rude/ grumpy/ don't respond to questions/ cbf
  • Creepy like the ones who remember me, know where I live, and ask if im single as conversation.
  • Wise Guys: i love these ones.. I often find myself explaining where I currently am in life to them.. uni etc, want to move out, whatever..
These ones are always happy to give me advice, suggest practical things to achive goals.
Past advice includes "Don't trust men."
Me:... like you? Him:" yes, like me, don't trust them..."
.. haha that cold definitely lead to trust issues later on down the track if i take that on board.
Also; cliche but one said " Life is too short to worry" in which another woman in the taxi with me had lost a cousin that day.
  • Talkative usually initiate the conversation.. tell me about THEIR lives, invstments, immigration stories, family back home..what they did in school, favourite movie i.e. Casablanca ...etc.
One had even asked if I wanted them to stop talking bceause i was tired from work and don't want to listen to them..
    haha sweet.

Taxi rides CAN be boring.. but often are comforting.. emotionally.

korea beverage

So i decided today, i wanted to be daring.
And walked into the Korean grocery store to try new beverages.

This.. was DISGUSTING.
I don't know if it was off or what but it did NOT taste like FRESH cococonut juice. In my time I have gained a fairly good idea of what coconut juice tastes like.
Taste: SHIT/ 5
Smell: Didn't bother.
Packaging: 2/5.
$don't remember

Aparently this ion drink is famous in Korea. Said the korean shop owner.
I asked what this tasted like, and he said it was hard to explain.
Wasn't tooo bad. Tasted.. abit sweet, yet abit sour.
2 parts sweet and one part sour.
No particular flavour although there was grape extract in there somewhere.
Taste: 3/5
Smell: nothing
Packaging:pretty retro
$1

Acording to mr. korean shop owner, this is similar to coke, plus vitamins.
I didn't know what to expect as the ingredients listed barley, and some citrus extract thing..
It did look like coke.. but err.. tasted like Coffee+ coke.
And although that sounds like a cool combination,
it wasn't so great to me..
brother thought it was ok.
dog took one lick and walked away.
Taste:2.5/5
Smell: nothing
Packaging:pretty koreany .. not bad
$1.20
Not a big loss to the wallet overall

FML

Today, I got prostate examination for the first time. Now I can’t decide what’s worse, the fact that I got a boner when the doc inserted his finger, or the fact that my wife told the story to pretty much everybody we know. FML

evolution of my mobile phonage

ahh my first phone ever : ) good times in year 7 & 8 i.e. 2003/2004.

young. when it was cool to have a phone with tiny buttons and you
tried to beat your friends with the snake top score. My ringtone was Sean Paul " get busy" gooood times

This phone was kinda lame.. i prefered my smaller 8210.
not sure why i changed/ degraded to this, but anyhow.
quite a brick of a phone.

There deffo mustve been another phone in beteween this but i
cant seem to rmemeber. I got this in 2005. an aunt gave it to
me as it was being sold at an auction. lol some poor lady lost it.
interestingly it had chinese characters on the text buttons,
so i would often attempt to text people in chinese whih aparently was a
bunch of squares when they received it.

This was a good phone. many memories, very durable, and cute.. cameera quality... pretty good, ringtoness ok.. message tone.. cute briiiinggg!!! sound
coolest games- caveman and speedway! suck on that snake 1. downfalls- text storage max was like 70.

ahh this phone was quite shit. once again another second hand one..
pic qualitty pretty good. games-shit. text storage-shit.

another downfall-having to inconveniently speak on loudspeaker, and i
could not hear what the other person said throgh the headset..
durability--ok. (2008-early 09)

one of my faves.. pic quality v good :) sound- good. and you could hav a
million mesages on this due to memory card.always used to listen to the
radio on this on the way to school ..
2007-2008.
ahh <3

my current phone.. best one yet, quality of everything - excellent!
love that u can see pics/msgs while the phone is still closed, through
the screen that doubles as a mirror on the front.

2009--...

such is life

man i feel pretty fat too.. soooooooooooooo much chicken lately...

im going to in fact google the benefits of chicken to make myself feel better riiiiiiiight now.

"WH Foods"

Health Benefits
Chicken is rated as a very good source of protein, providing 67.6% of the daily value for protein in 4 ounces. The structure of humans and animals is built on protein. We derive our amino acids from animal and plant sources of protein, then rearrange the nitrogen to make the pattern of amino acids we require.
A Very Good Source of Protein
People who are meat eaters, but are looking for ways to reduce the amount of fat in their meals, can try eating more chicken. The leanest part of the chicken is the chicken breast, which has less than half the fat of a trimmed Choice grade T-bone steak. The fat in chicken is also less saturated than beef fat. However, eating the chicken with the skin doubles the amount of fat and saturated fat in the food. For this reason, chicken is best skinned before cooking.

Protein Protects Against Bone Loss in Older People
Studies show that some sections of the population, especially older people, have poor protein intake. But protein may be important in reducing bone loss in older people. In one study, the 70- to 90-year-old men and women with the highest protein intakes lost significantly less bone over a four-year period than those who consumed less protein. Animal protein, as well as overall protein intake, was associated with preserving bone.
With data from 615 participants in the Framingham (MA) Osteoporosis Study, researchers examined the relationship between protein intakes in 1988-1989 and changes in bone mineral density four years later. They accounted for all factors known to increase risk of bone loss.
Participants who reported the lowest daily protein intakes - roughly equivalent to half a chicken breast - had lost significantly more bone in the hip and spine four years later than those with the highest intakes - equivalent to about 9 ounces of steak and 1 cup of tuna salad. The group with the next lowest intake - equivalent to about 2 cups of cottage cheese - also lost significantly more bone than the highest protein intake group

yayyy for good bones and amino acids
