taxi drivers & life lessons

I've taken a few taxi rides in my time..
5am returns from work, nights after clubbing, on the way to school (late) for an exam, lazy times.. etc... whatever.

Point is, i've come to realise taxi drivers fit into the following categories
  • Silent.. usually new to Australia, limited english, or are just rude/ grumpy/ don't respond to questions/ cbf
  • Creepy like the ones who remember me, know where I live, and ask if im single as conversation.
  • Wise Guys: i love these ones.. I often find myself explaining where I currently am in life to them.. uni etc, want to move out, whatever..
These ones are always happy to give me advice, suggest practical things to achive goals.
Past advice includes "Don't trust men."
Me:... like you? Him:" yes, like me, don't trust them..."
.. haha that cold definitely lead to trust issues later on down the track if i take that on board.
Also; cliche but one said " Life is too short to worry" in which another woman in the taxi with me had lost a cousin that day.
  • Talkative usually initiate the conversation.. tell me about THEIR lives, invstments, immigration stories, family back home..what they did in school, favourite movie i.e. Casablanca ...etc.
One had even asked if I wanted them to stop talking bceause i was tired from work and don't want to listen to them..
    haha sweet.

Taxi rides CAN be boring.. but often are comforting.. emotionally.
